I
started painting houses professionally in the summer of 1982,
when I moved to the small town of Kent, Connecticut. I was
hired by a friend to paint an old barn that he rented for his
landscaping business. It was his way of repaying the landlord
for the use of the barn, and since I had just returned from
California, and had no other work lined up, I jumped at the
chance. I hadn't planned on becoming a house painter, and before I knew it, I was
"booked up" for the rest of the summer. I was fortunate enough to catch the eye of
enough people in the area to start my own business, and have
been painting ever since.
At the same time, I began working on pencil and oil portraits as a hobby. As my painting business grew, I found I had very little time to make that a priority, but I have a small studio in our house and can handle 3-4 oil portraits a year, plus a number of pencil portraits. In the meantime, I am still busy painting houses, and available for work or estimates at any time. You can reach me by phone or e-mail, or by clicking on the link for the Contact Form.
